Link to Route MapAs of now (Friday 3/22) the ride is on. The forecast currently calls for 24% chance of rain, and it's predicted for before the ride, both at the departure and destination. If that changes, I'll update this message announcing cancellation of the ride, so stay tuned, but for now, it's on!

KSU 9:30 am
Route Map TBD [I failed to save my edit before the ride, but HERE’S THE ROUTE for posterity]
Point Reyes has much to offer. Today we start with a leisurely ride up Highway 1 to through the Lucas Valley to Point Reyes Station for coffee, then Inverness to take on provisions; this is the official end of the ride, or you can join the Road Captain on an expedition to the Southwesternmost point of the peninsula to visit the Point Reyes Lighthouse (bring a pair of comfortable shoes for the ~mile walk plus 626 stairs round trip or just sit in the grass and enjoy the view adjacent to the parking lot). The return trip is South along Highway 1 passes through redwoods on well paved West Marin back roads, with potential for a diversion to a twistier less traveled route, depending on the whim of the group.
*Points = If you can’t make the ride with us, take a selfie of you and your motorcycle with the wreck of the Point Reyes in the background (from the parking lot behind The Inverness Store)
- Thanks to the group for being flexible with game time reversal of proposed route -

This is the Captain’s Ride - to obtain your points you must follow the Captain!! This is a longer, and at times, technical ride. bring your A game!
We start by slabbing it South a bit to get past the twisties that we typically ride, then as we approach Cupertino we turn Westward into the hills, past two reservoirs (one of which submerges a genuine California ghost town), before taking a break at Member Francois’ house. A quick gas stop is next, then burgers, fries, and shakes at Foster’s Freeze! With bellies and bikes all fueled up, we’re ready for more twisties behind UCSC and the most technical part of the ride, Jamison Creek Road. We link up with Good Ol’ Highway 9, then another brief stop at Member Clay’s house. The final stretch includes more technical narrow roads to our final destination, Portola Redwoods State Park.
*Points = Follow the road captain to Portola Redwoods State Park Visitor’s center
We are camping at Ravine Group Camp. You may forfeit points and meet us at the campsite. Bring your own everything. There is no propane, cash, WiFi, cell reception, or food in the park. The first 6 vehicles are free, but we will split the parking fee for additional vehicles ($10 each) between all those who attend. Reservation fee is compliments of the Road Captain. Check out is 11:00 am Sunday. There is a proposed return route which you are free to join me for, or ride your own ride home. -
KSU 7:00 am Java Beach At the Zoo Friday 5/24
Route to Greenhorn registration (City of Orange, CA), then we follow the super secret Greenhorn route provided by PMC, which they reveal at registration.
From their site:
”The overnight destination in Yuma, AZ will be hosted by the Historic Coronado Motor Hotel 233 S. 4th Ave., Yuma, AZ 85364
CALL THE HOTEL in order to book your room and ask for the special PMC GREENHORN RATE: (844) 348-3382”
*Points = Take a picture of you and your motorcycle at the Greenhorn departure location: Chevron, 8544 E Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92869 (you don’t have to complete the ride, but you do have to show up at the departure location any time over the holiday weekend May 25-27). -

Today we ride the beloved East Bay twisties known as Mines Road and Del Puerto Canyon in Livermore, to arrive at George J Hatfield SRA for an evening of camping along the Merced River. Bring your own food, or dine nearby as we’re only minutes from civilization. The forecast is high 80’s. This should be a fairly easygoing ride and camp trip, so don’t overthink it.NOTE: Merced County Sheriff's dept has closed the Merced River for recreation. No swimming or boating, so leave your yachts at home. The campground is open and unaffected otherwise.
NOTE: The Rainbow Junction Farm is under new management and is having a grand opening party on Saturday - we were going to stop there for lunch but now will only make a rest stop before continuing on to Patterson for lunch at Mil’s Bar and Grill.
*Points = Take a photo of you and your bike at George J Hatfield SRA sometime Saturday or Sunday.BONUS ALTERNATIVE - Consider supporting Capital City Motorcycle Club for their Rolling on the River event. Members who attend this event will get full ride points.

This is the second of 2 “Follow the Road Captain” rides - but this time only the RC knows the destination. Riders are told to show up (sometimes with passports, sometimes with camping gear, sometimes at 3:00 am) with a full tank of gas, and follow the Road Captain to wherever the ride goes. This year’s RC showed mercy and we had a leisurely, if hot, ride through the Sacramento River Delta by way of Alhambra Valley twisties, to arrive at our dear friends’ place, the storied Al The Wop’s, for steaks, burgers, refreshments, and fellowship. A good time was had by all! -

Marin County and Sonoma County border each other and offer spectacular riding. They both host some of my favorite roads in the immediate area. Our ride begins on some of the Greatest Hits backroads through Lucas Valley, along the Tomales Bay, arriving in the town of Bodega (not nearby Bodega Bay), made famous by Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds for an early lunch. This is the official end of the ride - collect your points and go home, or grab a bite and continue onto the long way!Lunch is a choose-your-own-adventure with a few different options in downtown Bodega. From here we travel to the coast, gas up, head north along spectacular (if it’s not foggy!) coastline, then explore the beautifully paved, mildly twisty forest roads of Coleman Valley, Occidental, and Freestone. We can’t pass Wild Flour Bread without a pitstop, so bring storage capacity for hefty loaves and big-as-your-face scones. Next are the bucolic sights and scents of Petaluma farmland, as we make our way to Sir Francis Drake, wind our way through afternoon summer traffic back to the freeway. Our East Bay riders can pick up the San Rafael bridge homeward while the remainder aims for the Golden Gate, with a possible pilgrimage to Telford’s Pipe and Cigar, depending on the mood.

KSU is 8:30 am from the SFMC clubhouse. This Saturday we join our friends The Oakland Motorcycle Club for their 3 Bridge poker run.
It's an early start to avoid traffic, check-in at OMC Club Hall is 8:00 am - 10:00 am.
This is the "3 Bridge Run" so once we check in, we will immediately return across the Bay Bridge, make our way to the Golden Gate, then head to the Richmond/San Rafael bridge, and back to OMC. We learn the route once we check in for the ride there, so the route map above is just from SFMC to OMC.
So
KSU is 8:30 am from the SFMC clubhouse. I'm not going to open the house, we'll just gather out front and take off at 8:30. Be gassed up and have gone potty already. Thank you!No point in East Bay members going back and forth, just go straight to OMC - we expect to be there by 9:00. Since it's a Poker Run it's kind of a Choose Your Own Adventure. Feel free to arrive whenever you want and register, get the route, and hit the road. Prizes start at OMC Club Hall at 3:00 pm, so maybe plan to be back there by then.
There is a $25 fee for the ride, which includes breakfast and lunch.
POINTS: Check in at OMC and pay to play. You don't have to play for SFMC ride points, but you do have to pay - the proceeds go to a Veteran's support organization, and your participation supports our sister club, so that's the threshold for getting ride points this time.
Please consult the OMC website for more detail:

RouteThe San Jose Dons Dam Run is not to be missed. A great annual event for excellent roads and legendary fellowship! We will be slabbin' it straight to the check-in at The Motor Cafe which starts at 9:30 am. From there, we are the grateful guests of our hosts.
For reference, check the San Jose Dons website:

We'll head over the Bay Bridge and make our way through eastern Napa County.Gas stop at Chevron - 4155 Suisun Valley Rd.
There's no way we would go by Turtle Rock without stopping for an egg roll and a refreshment so that's eggsactly what we'll do.
Afterwards, we'll continue enjoying back roads past Lake Berryessa, before arriving at the destination in Clearlake. Some sections can get technical.
It is supposed to be hot - plan accordingly!
POINTS - Arrive at Check-In for Hey Day* on Saturday
*Hey-Day is a two day overnight event. Registration for hotel accommodations is closed but last minute camping can be available on site.

RouteSadly, this is the last day of the Moto Talbott Museum, they will be closing after 9/29, so we're going to celebrate the collection and the man behind it all, Robb Talbott.
The museum is in Carmel Valley. Rather than spending time on an interesting ride, we're going to slab it all the way down there and spend our time at the museum.
I have a proposal for a return route but it makes for a very long day, therefore points will be awarded for arrival at the museum, and you will simply be mercilessly tormented if you skip the return route: WE'RE A MOTORCYCLE CLUB - RIDE YOUR MOTORCYCLE!
POINTS - Show up at Moto Talbott either Saturday 9/28 or Sunday 9/29. If you don't ride with the group on Sunday, take a photo of you with your favorite motorcycle on display.

Step by step directions for printing out
Check-In between 8:00 am - 10:00 am at the parking lot on Marina Green near Clayton's Anchor MAP
We will have two departures led by an SFMC member for those who want to ride in a group, one at 9:00 am and one at 9:30 am.
Printed route maps and directions will be provided at check-in for those who want to hit the road on their own.
This ride starts with a quick parade down the crooked part of Lombard St, then over the Golden Gate Bridge. Next is a bit of freeway, but we soon emerge in wine country for some glorious twisties! Traffic can build up in the small towns so please be patient and respect the locals.
Destination for those not attending the overnight festivities is Turtle Rock Bar & Cafe. They are cash only and have a small kitchen with a few options (they're famous for their egg rolls). Perry's Deli has more options and there is a taco truck at the Chevron gas stop - both of those are in Middleton before the destination.
For those continuing on, we'll conclude our ride at R-Ranch At The Lake for overnight festivities!
POINTS - for SFMC members, points will be awarded for riding in one of the group rides or volunteering to support the ride, either at check-in for the ride or check-in at R-Ranch.
